A bit of a product review

For Christmas, I received the Zoom recorder. If you are not familiar with this product, here is the link:

I have practiced using this around the house. It seems to be very effective, compared to my other recorders. This does not have a lot of noise in the recording process. The sound is flawless; it uses a front speaker and rear speaker, and records in stereo. The recorder does two recordings when on front and rear settings. I am blown away by the quality of this recorder, and would recommend it for anyone wanting to do EVP work. It isn’t cheap, but it is worth it compared to the others.

I also received the P-SB7 ITC research device. This works like a hacked Radio Shack “Ghost box” but is much more effective in regards to ITC communication.

This was made specifically for communication. It has options for AM, FM…the one thing I absolutely LOVE about this thing is that you can control the frequency sweeps. I love it, and have practiced with it a bit. There is one thing that bothers me about this device, though. That is the speaker. I HATE THIS SPEAKER. It is useless. Luckily, it does have a jack for a different speaker, which I am going to have to purchase because I cannot hear anything on this compared to my ghost box radio shack hack. Extremely disappointing that the speaker seems to be an afterthought.

There were other items for Christmas, but we need to “play” with them some more before I can advise on purchasing them. Until the next investigation…

Much thanks to the reader who sent this photo; personally, I have gotten some very strange vibes in Prague, Arkansas. We will be going to investigate this vicinity after hunting season, because this was captured on hunting land. The location will remain undisclosed.

I am not going to bother to even put up a field report for this one. There wasn’t a single shred of evidence, not a single EVP, not a single picture. I am actually a little upset about this one, because JM and I SAW SOMETHING. This was on November 24th, 2011. We saw a strange light…it was a red light. We went toward the light, it disappeared. We inspected the area very carefully to make sure we were not mistaken…nada. I wish there could be SOME evidence for this one, as I personally have never seen anything (except a shadow person several years ago). It was very strange. Warrants further investigation; wish I had some evidence to present. I did do a ghost box session, though. Here are the results and the session.

Location-Marks Mill State Park near Warren, Arkansas

Date-November 12th, 2011

Time- 10:15-11:05 pm

Wind speed and direction-Windy, 1–15 mph from SSW

Cloud cover-partly cloudy

Temperature-64 degrees

Any cold/hot spots or sensations?-Sensations in and around the pavilion area.

Any unusual occurrences?-Yes. JM and I heard a strange noise. Later, near the historical marker, JM heard many voices screaming. My ghost box refused to work.

Observations and conclusions-

This place was very strange. We did not get a lot of physical evidence, though. Got a couple of orb photos and some weird sounds on the EVP recordings. At the beginning of the investigation, JM and I heard a strange noise. I inspected this on the recording, and after filtering, it sounded like a musical tune. I did feel a “presence” but it did not feel negative at all.

My ghost box didn’t work. I tried to turn it on and got nothing. I ran back to the truck to change the batteries; again, nothing. Tried to change batteries yet again…nothing. When we came home, it started working.

Prior to leaving, JM decided to try to get photos at the historical marker. He turned on his recorder. He said he started hearing terrible screaming. He yelled for me to get out of the truck. He told me he heard many people screaming; he was quite shaken. I did not hear this screaming. When listening to the recording, we did hear a very strange buzz, but not the loud screaming he heard.

I do believe this location is “haunted”. I believe these are residual spirits, that is they are stuck in a pattern, like a record groove in time. At no time during this investigation did I feel negativity.

It was a very windy night; I would like to go back to investigate when it isn’t so windy.

This location definitely warrants more investigation to find more evidence. We will try to go back soon.

Directions-Go south of Sheridan, toward Fordyce. It is on AR-97 N near Warren, Arkansas.

Observations and conclusions-There were very interesting EVP recordings, an interesting photo, and a good ghost box session. We decided to visit this site because of the stories of the Woodson Lateral Lights. We drove around Woodson Lateral, but other than others also trying to find the lights, we saw none. The cemetery is pretty active, though, in my personal opinion. JM took a very interesting photo of what appears to be a figure. We looked over all the other photos, and there was nothing there. I do believe that this cemetery has paranormal activity; also an orb photo.

Observations and conclusions:

We came to this location based on internet information that claimed the Ico cemetery as a haunted location. Unfortunately, I got no feelings here; we got no photos indicative of the paranormal, not even one orb photo. We have been there before; nothing happened at that time, either. We did get some ghost radar words and EVPs. I suppose given the reputation and the EVPs obtained, this location warrants further investigation; however, it was a geometric storm, so we probably should have detected something.

Any unusual occurrences?-Some feelings in war memorial portal, which gave blips on ghost radar.

Observations and conclusions:

We did not stay long, not because of something wrong, but because it was far too cold. There was not much activity during the time we were there. There were interesting red blips on the ghost radar. I only got a couple of EVPs, and they were too vague. We got some orb photos, but it is possible they were dust. In conclusion-before calling this location haunted, more evidence and study is needed. I did get some feelings near the monument area.

Any cold/hot spots or sensations-No temperature anomalies. Feelings of dread, though.

Any unusual occurrences?-Ghost radar readings matched up with orb photos.

Range of reading/spike-By trees across from picnic tables. Spike around 12:30 AM

Observations and conclusions:

There was a lot of energy in this area. This was felt by both myself and JM. The greatest amount of energy was concentrated in the area where the restrooms used to be. Also a clearing of trees near the plaques.

EVPs-Strong male voice near plaques, but not entirely sure what was said.

Photos-A red orb was appearing on many of the photographs, but upon further investigation there was something on the camera lens. Other than this, there were a few bright orbs that appeared to actually coincide with the blips on the Ghost Radar.

Ghost radar-There were several anomalies that occurred with this tool. It was showing blips at a tremendous rate-red blips in the area of the trees by the plaque.

It is my conclusion that there is paranormal activity here, but visual evidence is incomplete. This location warrants further investigation.

Eureka Springs, AR ghost radar readings

When we went to the Eureka Springs Cemetery on October 22nd, we got these ghost radar words. I don’t know, I was certainly spooked by them. I don’t necessarily endorse the validity of this app/product, but they certainly are interesting words. The time on the words was in error; it was actually 8 in the evening, not 8 in the AM.

Eureka Springs, AR

I have had very interesting experiences in Eureka Springs. We took the ghost tour at the Crescent back in July; we got some audio and video. I won’t say we did a full scale investigation; we were mainly there to have fun. I got a very interesting photo that I will include in this blog entry.

We visited Eureka Springs for a second time October 20th-23rd, 2011. We went downtown to walk around on Saturday evening. We came to a chocolate place (which is mandatory) called the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Went inside, paid for some chocolate, when a young woman named Cassie noticed my paranormal investigator ID. She must have very good vision; it was not prominent. Anyhow, we got to talking. We talked about the energy in Eureka Springs, which is extremely intense. She mentioned that the energy in Berryville, where she resides. She had some photos on her camera that were very good, from the Crescent Hotel.

If you have a chance, check out Eureka Springs. We went into the cemetery; I could not stay. The negative energy was too strong; it pushed me back. There is a road that is next to the cemetery, toward the back, which is absolutely terrifying. Good luck!
